Forecast Boston is the definitive portal for Greater Boston's weather and climate — built to make the official National Weather Service forecast fast, clean, and highway-clear across the five counties of the metro, from Cape Ann and the North Shore to Boston Harbor and the South Shore.
Boston's weather is New England at its most dramatic: nor'easters and blizzards, coastal flooding and storm surge on the harbor, summer heat waves and sea breezes, and the sharp swings between them. Forecast Boston is being built to tell that story — county by county, corridor by corridor.
The look borrows from the American Interstate system — the reflective paper, the green guide signs, the blue service signs, the brown recreation signs, and the red-white-and-blue route shields — set in Overpass. As a metro site its hero is the county grid rather than a state outline, in a cranberry accent, a nod to the Massachusetts bogs — its own note in the network.
Forecast Boston is a metro zoom-in on Greater Boston. Massachusetts doesn't yet have its own Forecast <State> site — statewide forecasts live on weather.city — but Boston is part of the wider Forecast network.
